Mr. Darren Burkett
Principal​​
Mr. Darren Burkett begins his tenure as Naples High School principal with the 2017-2018 school year. For the past eight years, he has served the students and families of Collier County as both an assistant principal and principal Prior to his arrival in Collier County, Mr. Burkett was a high school English teacher and administrator in Massachusetts.  More recently, he has served as principal of East Naples Middle for the four years preceding his appointment to Naples High School in June 2017.  Mr. Burkett holds a bachelors degree in English from Assumption College along with both a masters degree and certificate of advanced graduate studies in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State University.  He is an active member of the Florida Association of School Administrators and has presented on leadership across the state. Mr. Burkett is also a certified member of the National Institute of School Leaders.  Having worked with many of the current students and families of Naples High School, Mr. Burkett aims to establish strong connections with all families and the community in order to ensure that each student has every opportunity to reach their great potential and become productive citizens
Andreas "Ernie" Modugno

Ernie Modugno is beginning his 30th year as the Athletic Director and Activities Coordinator at Naples High School.  Ernie came to NHS  1981 while working as a Youth and Public Relations Deputy (YRD) with the Collier County Sheriff’s Department. In 1983, he became Naples High school's first-ever varsity soccer coach. Ernie also coached tennis and was an assistant coach in the Golden Eagle football program. After obtaining his teaching certification in 1985, he was named Florida American History Teacher of the Year in 1988. During Ernie’s tenure as the Athletic Director at Naples High School, Golden Eagle athletic teams have achieved 143 District Championships, 53 Region Championships, 41 State Championships, and two National Championships. Naples High School is regularly recognized among the top public high school among public high school athletic programs in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s annual All-Sports competition and in 2008-09 ESPN ranked NHS as the #16 best high school athletic program in the United States and the # 1 high school athletic program among all schools (both public and private) in the state of Florida.  Many Naples High School athletic teams are also regularly among or THE top performing athletic teams in the state in the FHSAA’s Academic Team Champion Awards program—which ranks athletic teams in all sports based on team cumulative grade point averages. Since Ernie became AD in 1988, over 300 Naples High School student-athletes have gone on to participate in athletics at the intercollegiate level and numerous NHS coaches (in a variety sports) have earned local, state, and even national recognition. Ernie is active in the Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (FIAAA) and from 2006-2009 he served as a Board Member of the FHSAA Board of Directors. He has earned B.A.’s in both history and education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, all from the University of South Florida, in Tampa.  
Trish Hendry is beginning her eleventh year at Naples High School as the athletic/activities office assistant.  She works with coaches, club and class sponsors, and student-athletes and their parents to provide the best possible support and service for all. Her duties are varied but include: preparing and maintaining the online eligibility database for all NHS athletes, processing all athletic and non-athletic, extra and co-curricular transportation requests for coaches and sponsors (school buses, charter buses and activity vans) preparing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date sports rosters for all sports teams, maintaining accurate and up-to-date physical, insurance, academic eligibility and parent consent information for all student-athletes, processing all reserved seat season ticket sales every football season,  preparing game-day programs for non-football sports teams, preparing all athletic awards (letters, pins, plaques, and certificates, etc.) for all NHS sports teams, and assisting in the coordination of all school facilities usage.  Trish's daughter, Tori, age 23, is a student at Florida State University.  Trish is excited and proud to be a part of the Golden Eagle family and is looking forward to yet another exciting year of Naples High athletics and activities.  Go Eagles!!
